How much does AI SEO cost?

Most AI SEO plans cost between a few hundred and a few thousand dollars a month. Here’s what each price level should include, why the price grows, and the red flags to watch for before you sign.

Short answer

AI SEO usually costs from about $1,000 to $2,500 a month for a small or mid-sized service business, with a three-month minimum. The price depends mostly on how many questions you want to be named for, which grows with the number of cities and services you sell. Cheaper plans exist, but below that level they rarely include the mentions on other sites that AI tools rely on most.

How much does AI SEO cost per month?

AI SEO is the work that gets your business named when people ask ChatGPT, Gemini or Google’s AI Overviews for a recommendation. If you’re new to it, start with what AI SEO is, then come back here.

Like normal SEO, it’s sold as a monthly plan. Prices vary a lot between agencies, but most plans fall into three bands. Here are ours, so you have real numbers to compare against:

PlanFromContentQuestions trackedMentions workReport
Foundation$997/month4 pieces205 listings on trusted sitesMonthly
Growth$1,497/month8 pieces455 listings, 10 “best of” list pitches, LinkedIn and Reddit draftsMonthly
Scale$2,497/month12 pieces100+5 listings, 20 list pitches, 1–2 PR placementsWeekly

All three have a three-month minimum, then run month to month. Month one is setup. See full pricing for what changes the number.

What changes the price?

Four things push the price up or down:

1. How many questions you want to be named for

This is the biggest one. A dentist in one city might care about 20 questions. A firm with four services in three cities might care about 100 or more, because “best family lawyer in Leeds” and “best employment lawyer in Manchester” are different answers.

2. How crowded your market is

If ten competitors are already doing this work, you need more content and more mentions to get past them. In a quiet market, a small plan can go a long way.

3. How much content your site needs

If your website already answers buyer questions well, the plan can focus on mentions. If your service pages are thin, the first months go on fixing them.

4. Whether outreach is included

Being mentioned on other sites goes with being named by AI more than almost anything else. Outreach to lists, directories and publications takes real hours, so plans that include it cost more.

What should be included?

Whatever you pay, a real AI SEO plan should cover these five things. If one is missing, ask why.

WhatWhat it should mean in practice
A question listA written list of the questions your buyers ask, agreed with you before work starts
A baselineEvery question run once in ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Overviews, with screenshots, before anything changes
ContentNew or rewritten pages, each answering one buyer question, answer first
MentionsListings on trusted directories, and pitches to lists and sites in your field
Monthly checkThe same questions, asked the same way, logged out, with the results in a sheet you can open

That’s how our AI SEO plans are built. The tracking sheet matters most: without it, you can’t tell whether anything is working.

Why most plans need 3 months

AI SEO has a slower start than ads. Month one is setup: fixing site basics and recording where you stand. Month two is content. Month three is when mentions on other sites start to land.

Results can come sooner. In the Tyde case study, ChatGPT named a brand-new domain within 30 days. But that was a quiet market. In a crowded one, three months is the earliest point where you can judge the trend fairly.

Red flags when buying AI SEO

Red flagWhy it matters
“We guarantee you’ll be named by ChatGPT”Nobody controls what AI tools say. A guarantee means the seller doesn’t understand the product, or doesn’t mind misleading you.
No list of questionsIf you don’t agree on what to measure, you can’t tell if it’s working.
“We’ll publish 50 AI-optimised articles a month”Volume isn’t the signal. Studies show the number of pages on a site barely relates to AI visibility.
Reports with only rankings and trafficThose are normal SEO numbers. You need to see who the AI names for your questions.
A 12-month lock-inThree months is enough to see a trend. After that, you should be free to leave.

Common questions

Is AI SEO more expensive than normal SEO?

Usually about the same. Most of the work overlaps: clear pages, a fast site, reviews and links. The difference is what gets measured.

Can I do AI SEO myself?

Yes, if you have the time. Write your buyer questions, fix your service pages, complete your Google profile and ask for reviews. The hard part is outreach and checking every month.

Why is there a three-month minimum?

Because month one is setup and the first mentions take a few weeks to land. Judging after one month would mean judging the setup, not the results.

Does Revirto charge setup fees?

No. Month one is setup, and it’s part of the monthly price. GST is added on top of the listed prices.
